Adaptive Yoga Classes
Our adaptive yoga classes make the benefits of yoga practice accessible to every body. Classes are taught by experienced yoga instructors, and dedicated volunteers help with each class. Teachers and trained volunteers assist with transferring participants in and out of their chairs, as well as providing physical assistance with movement during class.
Classes are conducted either in a chair, on thick gym mats on the floor or some combination of both. In each class, the teacher guides students through breathing practices, basic movements (yoga poses), and guided relaxation. Movements are adapted to the individual’s needs and take any physical limitations into consideration. This allows the individual to enjoy the benefits of yoga while participating in a safe manner.
For many, the experiences of yoga in their lives lead to other lifelong wellness activities and ultimately a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Adaptive yoga classes are for children 5 years and older and adults of all ages.
